Granite State Scholars

The following Spaulding High School students have been recently named Granite State Scholars…  Jessica Kierstead, Lydia Ferland, Derek Bado, Zachary Towle, Jennifer Gustafson, Sara Hussey, Spencer Pallas, Gina Roussos, and Sarah Scott. 

This recognition honors seniors who are in the top 10% of the their class and who have scored at least a 1200 on the SATs (critical reading and math combined). 

 

In accordance with RSA 188-D:39 the granite state scholar designation shall be made by the Commissioner of Education by the end of March. The qualifications for designation are: student must be a high school senior, under the age of 21; student must be ranked in the top 10% of the senior class; and must have scored at least 1200 on an SAT exam taken on or before January 31st of the student’s senior year (or an equivalent score on ACT). Those Granite State Scholars who further their education at a 2-year or 4-year New Hampshire public institution are eligible for Granite State Scholars scholarships.

 

This year 750 high school seniors were designated as Granite State Scholars, up from 381 last year. “This is an honor for these high school seniors and a great opportunity for those seniors wishing to further their education at a post-secondary institution in New Hampshire,” said Commissioner Tracy. Each recipient will receive a certificate signed by the Governor and the Commissioner.
