Class Size for next year and open slots at this time: K, 20, 1st Grade, 21, (2 open slots), 2nd Grade 21 (1 open slots), Third Grade 21 (2 open slots), Fourth Grade 21 (1 open slot), Fifth Grade 21 (8 open slots)

We had nine students with siblings registered for kindergarten. One student from the former Maple attendance Zone. They are accepted based on the enrollment policy.

We will finalize the class enrollments and begin contacting everyone early next week.

We had five students with siblings register for kindergarten. Two of those students are from the former Maple attendance Zone.  They are accepted based on the enrollment policy.  We have six students from the Maple Zone register that did not have siblings.   We accept at least five total former Maple Zone students.  So, three of the six were drawn first in the lottery.  The remaining three entered the full lottery drawing.

If you are in the first 18 lottery slots, you probably have gotten into kindergarten.  I don’t anticipate any new Grade 1,2,3 students getting in, since last year’s waiting list is used first.  Grade 4 has six slots and only one registered student so far.

We will finalize the class enrollments and begin contacting everyone early next week.

Here is the list of ID numbers from the lottery.   This is all of the ID #’s drawn.  It does not mean that you are in the magnet school.  We will use this order to assign each student to classrooms.  When we fill all of the open slots, we will create a waiting list.

This session will provide a review of information on the Maple Street Magnet School.  We will have applications available at this meeting.  We will also talk about the selection process and timeline.

We had over 70 adults at last night’s meeting.  A great turnout and a good indication of the interest in the magnet school.  I have attached the magnet school calendar to this post.  I will announce in another posting, a meeting in two weeks.  It will provide the same information to anyone that could not make last night’s meeting.
