Bud Carlson Academy (BCA)

Bud Carlson Academy is in its first year of being a separate stand alone school.  Bud Carlson Academy is currently working with 108 High School students during the second semester.

The Bud Carslon Academy (BCA) serves Rochester School District students in grades 9-12. The BCA fosters an atmosphere of an intensive individualized program of study offering a non-traditional high school educational program that maximizes the potential of each student based on his or her individual needs.  Students are provided with a structured environment where program expectations, objectives and goals are clearly stated.  An individual education plan is created for all BCA students providing a visual record of progress toward the overall goal of fulfilling graduation requirements.

Students who enroll in the Bud Carlson Academy will be working toward a 20 credit high school diploma, as approved by the State of N.H. Department of Education.  Students will be attending the BCA full time and will be afforded the opportunity to enroll in Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs based on space, availability of courses, and successful completion of the application process.  Students who complete the 20 credit graduation requirement will be awarded a Bud Carlson Academy high school diploma during a separate BCA graduation ceremony.

School hours are flexible with night classes available. Completion of high school courses will be measured by the mastery of course level competencies. Offering ongoing day and night components at the Academy allows students to be more flexible with time regarding the completion of courses.

The school has had a successful start this year with only four students withdrawing from the school.  Two of the students moved, one is considering adult education or Job Corp. and the fourth did drop out.
