The following is a list of times and locations in which John Shea will be meeting with parents to discuss the Big Step Forward.
Scheduled forums (focus on parents and Rochester citizens):
* McClelland – Wed 10/7 at 7 pm.
* RMS – Thurs 10/15 at 6:30 pm.
* Maple Street – Friday 10/16 at 8:30 am.
* William Allen – Wed 10/28 at 6:30 pm.
* ERS/NLS (at East Rochester School) – Thurs 11/5 at 6 pm.
* Gonic School – Thurs evening 11/12 at (6 p.m.). Gonic School – Thurs evening 11/12 at 6 pm… NOT HAPPENING – NEW DATE/TIME IN THE WORKS.
* School Street – Tues 11/17 at 6:30 pm.
* SHS – Wed 11/18 at 6 pm (library).
* Chamberlain – THURS 10/29 AT 6:30 PM
Consideration should be given to rescheduling the meeting at the Rochester Middle School (RMS) currently planned for October 15 at 6:30. The city is hosting a Candidates Forum which is the only opportunity I am aware of where the residents/voters of Rochester will be able to meet and ask questions of all the candidates who are currently running for Mayor, City Council, and the School Board.
As the parent of a child who attends RMS and with no other child in another Rochester school, the only invitation I have received to attend the Big Step Forward meeting is the one scheduled for October 15. With the upcoming election being one of the most important elections in this city in recent years as it will most likely have a major impact on the direction of education as well as every other facet of government spending and control, not one voter in this city should have to make a choice between the meeting at RMS and the Candidates Forum.
Please consider postponing the Big Step Forward meeting at RMS to another date.
This is the normal meeting time for the parent group at the Rochester Middle School. We would inconvenience a number of parents if we canceled this forum. I hope you can attend either the High School forum or one of the elementary school meetings. Anyone is welcome to attend any forum.
